Advanced Combat Techniques [Prerequisite- Close Contact Combat 101 and 202]

40 hours (4 hour blocks over 10 spaced days of training)

In this course the student will be challenged to use all the techniques they have learned in this reality based training. Through carefully constructed scenarios students will use their verbal conflict skills, use of time and distance to their advantage, moving through the appropriate use of force until the aggressor has been effectively stopped.

Students will be sparring with fellow students and instructors in a controlled full force environment.

Topics Covered:
Threat level assessment Verbal conflict negotiation Escalation of the necessary use of force continuum Use of time and distance Defensive tactics- Movement, interception, evasion, counters, blocks, and striking Physical force applications (Joint locks, chokes, take-downs, grappling) Weapons deployment, retention, takeaways.
Required gear:
Comfortable clothing (stretching or ripping of fabric may occur)(Gi and No Gi allowed) Mouth-guard Eye protection (Will be provided if you do not have your own) Sport footwear
Recommended gear:
Water bottle Personal towel Weapon specific gear (duty rig, holsters, magazine pouches, etc)
Provided gear:

Head guard
Torso Protector
Gloves
Shin guards
Foot guards

*No real firearms, Tasers, blades or batons will be used during this course. We encourage students to provide their own gear specific training simulator or we have Glock 17 training simulators for use.
